PACE Counselling

Note: Throughout 2016 we are renaming our projects to incorporate 'PACE'. As such Access Counselling will be known as 'PACE Counselling'.

What we offer

PACE Counselling is a free one-to-one counselling service that is available to everyone 16 and above. This service is managed by David Holmes who is a qualified counsellor and director of PACE. He is passionate about helping people overcome difficulties. We also have a number of valued volunteers who are qualified counsellors who help to make this service possible. We currently see a significant number of clients per week and this service continues to expand in response to growing demand. Many clients are referred to us through PACE Advice and external agencies or through contacting us directly. We are registered with BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and have DBS (CRB) checks for all staff and volunteers, as well as having all the necessary insurances in place.

What is counselling and how can it help me?

Professional counselling will help you to explore issues that you are struggling to overcome with someone who is qualified and trained, who will listen with care and without judgement. Counselling will help you to gain understanding of your thoughts and feelings in a safe and confidential environment. From this you will be in a position to identify and move towards actions that help you deal with your experiences, or find ways of coping with things you cannot or do not wish to change.
