PACE Food Community Store

App

PACE Food Bank now operates as a Community Store.

How it works

For a minimum donation of £3, a selection of 12 stock items can be selected, together with a free selection of fruit, veg and bread, as is available at the time of the visit. No referral is needed for this type of visit and all details will be recorded from the client at the first visit.

Please note

We DO NOT offer delivery. People must attend to pick up food, or have someone do so on their behalf.

Location and opening times

The PACE Community Store is located at:
The NSC Arena
4 Belton Road West Extension
Loughborough
LE11 5XH

Opening times:
Thursday: 10.00 am – 1.00 pm
Saturday: 10.00 am – 1.00 pm

Emergency help available

We do offer an Emergency referral system, but this is strictly referral by an outside agency. The basis for an emergency referral is that there is no financial means of obtaining food by the person requiring help.

If a person is eligible for this help they can make use of up to four free visits to the store over a period of 12 weeks. These can be used as the client needs, e.g:

  • One visit for each of four weeks
  • One visit followed by two weeks without a visit and so on until four visits or 12 weeks have passed, whichever comes soonest.

Visits to the store in both emergency and “normal” circumstances operate in the same manner, which will be explained at the time of visit.

Referral by an outside agency must be by email to [email protected] and include the following:

  • Client Name
  • Client Tel No
  • Client email address (not mandatory)
  • Client Address (Inc Postcode)
  • Number of adults (over 16) in the household
  • Number of Children under 16
  • Brief Outline of why an emergency referral is needed.

We would expect any emergency situation to be completed by the end of the four visits (or 12 weeks) and would expect the client to move to the store model of operation – but if further emergency assistance is required then a new referral would be needed from the outside agency.

An outside agency would be considered as (in no order of importance and not exhaustive):

  • The Bridge (East Midlands)
  • John Storer House
  • Exaireo
  • Social Services
  • Schools
  • Doctors
  • Church Ministers
  • British Red Cross
  • Where does the food come from?

We are thankful for the donations that are made directly to PACE Food Bank to enable this project to be in operation and to New Springs City Church, who provide financial support specifically for this project. If you would like to donate to this project please select our donate button or call us directly.
